Beechworth Primary SchoolBeechworth Primary School was built in 1875 and is located in Junction Road Beechworth. The school has an approximate enrolment of 180 students from Beechworth and surrounding areas.

At Beechworth Primary School we aspire to promote and provide a happy, friendly, challenging and flexible learning community in which all members are valued.
We aim to achieve excellence in our academic, social, emotional, physical and community life.

Beechworth Primary School, built in 1875, consists of a central heritage building classified by the National Trust, with the addition of relocatable rooms. The school is centrally located in the historic gold mining town of Beechworth, North East Victoria.

The school has a current enrolment of 210 students. The students are drawn from the town and the surrounding rural area. Nine classes operate and these are mainly composite, spanning two years, in structure.

The school promotes the use of a range of teaching and learning strategies. The curriculum consists of eight key learning areas: English, Mathematics, Languages Other Than English - Indonesian, Science, Technology, Studies of Society and Environment, Health and Physical Education and The Arts. School priorities include improving student learning outcomes in Literacy and Numeracy.

The foundations of Getting Along, Confidence, Persistence and Organisation and associated positive mindset habits are explicitly taught and application promoted.

Learnscapes
A dedicated committee of student representatives from Prep-6, teachers and community members promote a sustainable and long-term commitment to school ground improvement and link to broader community environmental issues and projects.

ICT
The school's network infrastructure was extended and upgraded during 2001. ICT is integral to learning environments and linked to curriculum and student learning outcomes.

Visual Arts
The program celebrates student achievement with an annual art exhibition and regular displays at school and community venues.

Music
A Junior and Senior Choir regularly perform in the community and opportunity also exists for students to learn an instrument.

Physical Education
Opportunity exists for senior students to participate at district, zone and state level in distance running and athletics. Annual events also include a Winter Sports Carnival and Kanga Cricket.
