Support for the Beechworth and District Community Bank continues to gather pace with the staff and Board of Directors this week announcing this week that during the six months since opening on September 9th 2011 they have attracted accounts totalling in excess of $20 million including loans, deposits and other business.
Chairman of the Board Jamie Horne said ‘it is wonderful to see that the local community has got behind the Community Bank and making sure it is a part of their banking and insurance business. The results have exceeded our expectations and I have no doubt that is largely due to locals taking the time to hear our story and what we can deliver to the wider community as our business grows. It is a credit to every account holder that has consciously decided make the effort to bank local and keep the profits local for the greater communities benefit.’
Since opening the Beechworth and District Community Bank has already donated funds to all the local schools in the area, local festivals, the Community Christmas lunch organised by the
Jamie Horne also confirmed that the branch staff had all now completed their compulsory probation periods and the Board of Directors is delighted with their commitment as well as the professional and friendly service they offer. We are constantly getting positive feedback from people in the street. The branch is warm and welcoming and it has a true regional community feel.
