Queen Victoria Park is located approximately 1km from the centre of Beechworth and can be accessed from either Sydney Road or High Street. This park was first established in 1862 a botanical reserve and covers approximately 6 hectares. In 1891 volunteers further developed the park and added the two cannons. The park was officailly opened on 7th May 1902 by the then Minister of Agriculture John Morrissey M.L.A. in memory of 'Good' Queen Victoria.
Central in the park is a large granite outcrop (known as the Giant's Grave) which has been popular amongst children as a natural slide. Onto of the granite outcrop are the two bronze cannons dating back to 1845.The Sydney Road side of the park is used for regular markets which are run by the Rotary Club of Beechworth and the High Street side includes the Queen Victoria Park playgound and picnic area. The area inlcudes an under cover eating area, picnic tables, childrens playground, toilets and free electric BBQ's
