Take the plunge into what was once the main location of Beechworth's mining operations. Now a man made lake, there is a sandy beach, picnic facilities, bbq, toilets and a childrens playground. There is also a cultural walk nearby and licenced fishing is permitted. The lake is only around 6 metres at it's deepest point.
The water is cool and refreshing and there are several great spots to jump in from jetties. As you swim out to the middle of the lake be prepared for the underlaying reeds to brush against your legs, also make yourself known to the ocassional boat that maybe fishing.
