In 2005, Australian Geographical domain names (i.e. domain names ending in .com.au and .net.au) were released and were made available for purchase by interested parties. After a lengthy ballot process Beechworth.com.au was eventually purchased by Jamie Horne, trading as Global Retail and Trade.

Beechworth.com.au was launched 6th March 2006 and within days was recognised by the leading search engines. It has since grown to be one of Beechworth's leading websites constantly returning either 1st of 2nd position on all the major search engines. This has been acheived through extensive quality content and the contstant revision and expansion of the site.

Global Retail and Trade continues to develop www.beechworth.com.au for the benefit of the Beechworth community and it's visitors, introducing new initiatives to benefit local business and online tools and facilities to encourage visitation through ease of trip planning.
