"Brian
Seidel is one of only a few Australian artists who can be accurately
described as a modern master....He is an artist who made crucial
decisions concerning his path in art very early in his career,
and now, aged in his mid 70's is still continuing along the
same path."
"It is the remarkable vibrancy of
surface, a breathing colour saturation and lucidity of
line which characterises his work." SASHA GRISHIN
- Prof of Art History, ANU Canberra. (Art Critic Canberra
Times)
Brian Seidel is represented in most state
galleries, university collections, Art Bank, Parliament
House - Canberra, The Australian National Gallery as well
as private collections in Australia, Europe and the USA
(including the Earl of Harewood).
Considered one of Australia’s leading
figurative painters, Brian belongs to a group of Australian
artists who infused energy and vitality into the Australian
painting and print making scene in the 1960’s and
70’s. Inspired by the works of Bonnard, Matisse and
Norman Lindsay Brian creates works that are timeless in
their eclipse of fashion, stylish and sexy images that
glow with sensuality.
Brian’s studio is in Beechworth where
his work can be viewed. He has received many awards, has
exhibited regularly in important galleries in capital cities
in Australia and has been invited to show in the UK, France
and the USA.
